Product Description

Manufacturer's standard fiberglass designed for exterior or interior, as required. Provide integrally colored units with an approved texture* for a consistent appearance to match the architectural requirements. Alternate finish can be a white paintable gelcoat.

Material size and thickness varies to produce adequate strength and durability in the finished product and for the intended use. Work to the dimensions shown or accepted on the shop drawings using proven details of fabrication and support. (Thickness of FRP parts) nominal total thickness is 1/8" including gelcoat. Maximum thickness is 1/4" or as specified in approved shop drawings. Gelcoat thickness is .015" to .025".

Glass matt, chop, or cloth shall be equal to PPG or Owens Corning. Polyester resin shall be equal to Reichold products GP resins or fire Retardate Dion FR 7767 (depending on which is specified). Surface gelcoat to be equal to Polygard or Ram products.

Threaded inserts, internal reinforcements, stiffeners and steel connection devices are incorporated into units with corrosion resistant coating such as, zinc or cadium plate, or stainless steel. Embed inserts and stiffeners reinforced fiberglass to develop their strength and prevent failure.

A variety of surface finishes and textures are available, including SIMULATED LIMESTONE, a unique simulated stone surface texture for architectural fiberglass products. Also available is a wide variety of Stock Classical Column Molds "FLORIDA COLUMNS".

Finished surfaces shall not vary more than 1/8" in 10'-0" when tested with a straight edge and shall be free form cracks, pits, chips, voids, depressions, bumps, ridges, waves, scratches, discoloration or other defacements.

Suspension System Design: Compute structural properties of suspension system components and assemblies in accordance with AISI "Specifications for the Design cold-Formed Steel Structural Members".

Fire Retardant Rating: (when required or specified). Fire retardant material meets or exceed ASTM-E84 tunnel test.

Installation

General: Install material in accordance with manufacturer's printed instructions. Connect FRP components in accordance with approved shop drawings. Only Stainless Steel fasteners permitted for use in all connections. All caulked conditions to use Pecora Corporation Dynatrol 11, PH: 800-523-6688 or other approved urethane caulking. Secure individual units as indicated, accurately fitted true to line and slopes as indicated and required for proper alignment with adjacent work.

A light coat of exterior grade latex paint to be applied over all FRP after caulking process is completed.

Warranty

FRP products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from date of substantial completion of the project and if defects in materials and /or workmanship should appear within the stated period of warranty, the manufacturer shall replace same. Manufacture's warranty shall be limited to replacement of defective material. Warranty shall be based on installation methods in conformance with manufacturer's recommendations and instructions. Manufacturer's warranty shall not cover damage to FRP products caused by acts of God or structural, mechanical, electrical defects and defects of adjacent materials furnished and installed by other trades.
